Err...

(I just wrote about an 1000 character review for this, and then somehow pressed "back" and lost ALL of my work, so sorry, but I'm going to be a bit more brief this time, lol.) I think that this song really had trouble getting somewhere. It was really repetitive. Do something else with it, be creative, mix it up! It's more of a loop repeated alot than a song. Add more tracks or something! I mean, maybe this would be alright for a one minute song on which you base a longer song, but for over four minutes? Sorry, it's just not working for me. Also, the choir synth was annoying. I think maybe you should change the sound a bit by tweaking your synthesizer. I don't want to sound mean, but I think you could make this really good with more work. PM me if you release an improved version, though, I would like to hear it!

i dont give a shit in what you think :O
i'm just kiddin lol, ok, but i dont think i will fix this anymore on a long time, but someday maybe so thanks for the tips.

Hmm...

Usually I rant in my reviews at people for not being original, but I liked the beginning of your song, regardless of the fact that it was quite a bit like other dance songs, and lacked originality. I thought the second half was more original, although not as good. I would suggest splitting this up into two different songs and making them MUCH longer, because I could see both of them turning into pretty sweet songs. The bass around 0:50 was VERY annoying, I would suggest changing that. Loved the vocal sample in the middle, though. If you release improved versions of these songs, make sure to PM me, I would love to hear!

CyberPot responds:

Thx for the review. Perhaps i will release them in 2 seperate songs in the future, cus i am not happy with the worki put in this song in fact. But i am currently working on some other songs. Anyways thx for ur opinion :)

I liked the start, but then...

What the heck was up with that 8-bit synth that came in? It was sounding really cool for a moment, but after that it turned into some sort of videogame music. I would suggest removing some of those hard-core in-your-face synths and opt for more of the ambience at the beginning and the cool glitch-style stuff at about 1:15 (I'm a sucker for glitch). Otherwise it's just another dance song, and we already have, like, a million of those on this site. I did like those glitch synths in the middle, by the way. I'm just negative in my reviews, lol :P .
PM me if you make an improved/remastered version, I would love to hear it!

tijnn responds:

I guess that's just your style, and i appreciate teh comments but i just like 8-bit sounds together with such music, i just really adore a big wall of sound.

And that's what this is, after the intro, no? Although im a sucker for glitch too ;)

After saving the planet...

I don't think you would really want to dance at a rave after the saving of a planet, lol. But as far as the song goes, I'm impressed. It could have taken a turn for the worse. I liked the piano, but I must say the song as a whole got a bit repetitive. Also, the ambient chords sounded a bit compressed. Thy pumping up the high end of those ambient synths with an EQ. And switch it around a bit, unless of course your intention is to make it repetitive, like for some sort of flash movie or something. Also, it's lacking originality. Even if a song really sucks, I might give it an okay score if it has an original sound to it, but this song isn't too original (saying this is a little bit hypocritical, though, I guess, lol). I think you have it in you to make something original, it wasn't as annoyingly main stream as some of the stuff on this site (i.e. the popular stuff). Try some stuff with it. Maybe have it take a 180 in the middle, and turn all evil. PM me if you improve on this, I would love to hear it!

PoisonSky responds:

Hehe thanks for the review! I agree with quite a lot of the things you said, I don't think I'll try to improve it but your advice could definitely be used for future reference. I don't know about this not being original because I wasn't trying to copy any other pieces of music but I do see what you mean.

This is...pretty good!

I really liked what you did here! Would make for good video game music. Definitely a bit repetitive, though (again, though, it would be awesome for a some sort of flash videogame). If you want the song to be better for just sitting around and listening to, I think you should switch stuff around and add more tracks. Do some cool stuff to the middle, add different synths, more bass for depth. Great song, still, I really liked it! Just got a bit repetitive. I think, though, that you should just turn the entire song into a loop and give it to someone to use in an action-videogame, and maybe they would even pay you for it, because this is actually pretty high quality stuff! Or try and get it on www.flashflashrevolution.com (like dance dance revolution but with your fingers). Thanks for uploading. PM me if you remaster it!

Skela responds:

Big review!
Big thanks!

This song is actually designed for a game, a "epic battle" feeling.
Mastestering is pretty hard, for the song to be loud, but not too loud.
Anyways, thanks again for the big review!

Very original

I can see the sound that you're going for. Make it more mellow, don't add those weird synthy blips in, and opt for more ambient or glitch basslines, and add some distortion to your upper EQ. That's what I would do, at least. I like how you're trying to mix the straight up synths with ambient (keep trying weird stuff like that, you might just find something really cool!), but it's not working out too great. If you want to keep using the weird blippy synths, make them more complicated, and mix them up a bit. The song got really repetitive after awhile. Also, you might want to try changing it into a minor key, but then again, you don't hear much music like this in a major key, so it really helps add originality :) . I liked it toward the end when you had all your tracks running. I would have given you a 5/10, but I like the originality, so +2 makes 7/10. PM me if you remaster it!

Oh, and by the way, you don't need to credit soundsnap, it's actually legal to use their stuff commercially, I read their license (I really love that site). Thanks for uploading!

EthernalRain responds:

Thank you very much, for the critics. I'll remember them in the future.

=)

Nice rave

Really nice beats. Way better than anything I've ever made, but I do have some advice: if you want to create a genre, be a bit more original. I mean, this is great stuff, but it's not that much different. Add your own twists to the music. Try crazy shit!
Still loved it, though.

AndreaDigita responds:

Okay! XD

Tnx for the review ^^

Cool, but not amazing

Nice twist on rave, but it wasn't great. Add more, make it intricate and complicated. To some glitch crap with the drums (I'm a sucker for glitch, lol). I liked the general outline, though. Definitely needs more, still.

dmess responds:

thx, like i sayd, it's just a preview and comments like yours are usefull :D
I keep in in mind for the mixoff.

Okay.

Try to switch it up a bit. Got kinda tired of it after a while.

janiev responds:

True, i'll do my best to make enough changes in my music. But at this one it was more the intention to make it like this.
